Inside Vandoko
Why Independent Market Intelligence Is the Only Kind That Matters
When your intelligence provider also runs an auction, a marketplace, or an ad network, their interests and yours aren't aligned. Here's why independence is non-negotiable.

The Conflict You're Not Thinking About
Most dealer intelligence tools are built by companies with multiple revenue streams. The platform that shows you competitor inventory data also runs the auction those competitors use. The tool that tracks buyer behavior also sells your buyer data to lenders and OEMs.
This isn't a conspiracy. It's just misaligned incentives. And it matters.
What Misaligned Intelligence Looks Like
When an intelligence provider has revenue interests beyond your subscription, the intelligence itself gets shaped by those interests - sometimes subtly, sometimes not.
A few examples:
Auction-owned market data - If your data provider profits when you buy inventory at auction, do you trust their floor plan aging alerts to be unbiased? The alert that says "move this unit now" could be optimized for their auction volume, not your gross.
Marketplace-connected pricing tools - Providers who run consumer-facing marketplaces have an incentive to drive you toward list prices that generate leads for their platform. That's not the same as the price that wins the deal for your rooftop.
Ad-network-tied buyer data - When buyer behavior data is also sold to advertisers, the data is shaped for ad targeting, not dealer intelligence. Those aren't the same product.
What Independence Means
Vandoko has one revenue stream: your subscription. We don't run an auction. We don't operate a marketplace. We don't sell advertising. We have no financial interest in what you do with the intelligence we provide.
That means:
- Floor plan aging alerts are optimized to help your turn, not to drive auction volume
- Competitive pricing intelligence reflects what's actually happening in your market, not what's good for a listing platform
- Buyer profile data is yours - we don't sell it, share it, or use it to benefit any other platform
Data Architecture by Design
Every rooftop's data is isolated. Your market intelligence is not blended with other dealers' data or used to benefit your competitors in any way. The intelligence we provide to you is not shared with OEMs, lenders, or any third party.
We're audited annually against our data handling commitments. That accountability is part of the product.
The Question to Ask Every Vendor
Before signing any intelligence platform: "What other revenue streams does this company have, and how might they conflict with giving me unbiased data?"
If the answer involves an auction, a marketplace, or an ad network - ask harder questions.
